The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (Principal Designer 2007) came into force in April 2007 and now for most construction projects the client must appoint a principal designer, a role which we undertake on a wide range of projects. The regulations were introduced to help reduce project risks and the number of serious and fatal accidents not just at construction stage, but throughout the life cycle of the building.
Principal designer regulations have made the statutory clients’ duties more precise in relation to the fact that clients have a major role in setting the tone of a project with regard to health and safety. If you are thinking of undertaking any design or construction works then the regulations will place a number of specific duties on you and your project.
As a specialist consultancy group, our role and the range of services we offer as principal designer co-ordinators is to help you understand the implications of these regulations and provide you with the necessary advice and assistance to ensure your duties are adhered to and the regulations are met.
