Our eCard this year features the University of Brighton’s Advanced Engineering Centre, designed by Hassell. After providing client side project management for the facility, which completed in 2017, our team went on to manage the delivery of the first test cell laboratory within the new facility for a pioneering multi-cylinder split cycle engine project. Our role was to manage the programming, budgeting, tendering and delivery from feasibility to operation, reporting up the management structure and coordinating the various stakeholders and resources. The systems installed included: engine bed, purge ventilation, fuel delivery, dynamometer, gas delivery and analysis, automation systems, gas detection, cooling and exhaust dilution.
