LIHE Topping Out
Yesterday, construction work topped out at the new London Institute for Healthcare Engineering at King’s St Thomas’ campus. FulkersBaileyRussell is appointed as the project manager, contract administrator and programme manager for King’s College London’s £32m scheme. The LIHE is part of the vision for St Thomas’ MedTech Hub which is a joint initiative led by King’s School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The focus will be on key clinical challenges in cancer, neurological, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, oral health and prenatal conditions, which have been selected for their high disease burden and potential for transformation through healthcare engineering. Project completion will be in late 2023 with the facility expecting to open in early 2024.
