July 2024

At Fulkers Bailey Russell, our core mission goes beyond just improving our clients’ business. We’re a business that cares – about our clients and our people. We strive to create a positive impact for all stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and successful journey for our clients whilst fostering a supportive and rewarding environment for our employees. We recognise the changing needs of our clients and see it as our responsibility to improve their business by helping them achieve their goals and effecting changes to their estate as smoothly as possible. In order to continue meeting the needs of our clients precisely and completely, we have recently embarked on an exciting journey with a renewed business structure. By dividing our business into three key sectors: Private, Public, and Residential & Compliance, it allows us to tailor our approach to each client’s unique needs, especially as they become larger and more complex, often requiring multidisciplinary services.

A customer-centric shift for greater success

To support our people and clients with this shift, backed by our Partners Richard Fulker, Sam Bailey and Richard Russell, we have created a new Management Board which combines our newly appointed sector specific Managing Directors and our Enabling Team Directors to drive success. We are thrilled to announce the following appointments:

Dan Kennett – Managing Director – Private

With 19 years of experience in the industry, and 10 of those being at Fulkers Bailey Russell, Dan was a natural choice for this role. During this time Dan has worked with all of our top private clients, often running large multidisciplinary projects and developing and executing strategic initiatives. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sector that allows him to develop strong and successful relationships with clients such as owner/occupiers, leading developers, as well as media and technology providers. Dan’s understanding of our private clients is unquestionable, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment, ensuring successful project delivery. On top of this, Dan also leads our decarbonisation and PMO offerings, supporting a number of our clients in delivering their Net Zero targets and bringing structure and efficiency to their programmes, process and real estate.

Martin Strong – Managing Director – Public

Martin’s 30 years’ of experience managing complex, multi-site projects in public sector construction make him the perfect fit as Managing Director. From advice, surveys, feasibility studies to project work, he’s tackled diverse projects for leading UK Universities, Government, Local Authorities, healthcare and blue light providers with the support of a strong and motivated team which he cultivates. His expertise proves a deep understanding of public sector needs, allowing him to effectively lead our delivery team and serve our extensive client list.

Leo Haywood – Managing Director – Residential & Compliance

With over two decades of experience in project management, including leading multi-million-pound residential developments, and heading up Fulkers Building Safety Team delivering fire, façade and structural remediation projects in their efforts to make buildings safer for people to live in, Leo has a unique combination of skills and experience which make him perfect for this role. Since joining Fulkers in 2022, testament to his commitment to the sector and wider business, he has grown his team from 6 to 60, and won many new high profile clients such as purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) and build-to-rent (BTR) affordable housing providers and residential developers. The sector includes the compliance team which now also includes the BR-PD service, providing comprehensive support to developers and contractors regarding the Building Safety Act.

Dan, Martin and Leo will be supported by our newly selected Client and Commercial Directors who will assist them in driving their categories forward. The Managing Directors will be working with their new leadership teams to review their clients, plan their team structures, and devise a strategy for sector growth over the coming years.

The onward journe

Going forward, our focus remains on our clients and ensuring that we can provide them with bespoke solutions to deliver their projects. Our renewed business structure benefits our clients, people and B Corp governance by putting the focus on sector and clients’ specific needs, offering a solutions-based joined up approach, by understanding what they do, what’s important to them and how the projects we deliver will positively impact their business.

“Over the past 25 years I have seen Fulkers Bailey Russell grow and evolve into the B Corp Certified, national, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy it is today. We have always embraced change in order to meet the evolving needs of our clients and this restructure does just that. Along with our talented Enabling Team Directors, I am excited to see Dan, Martin and Leo lead our client delivery. Their experience, leadership skills and knowledge is unmatched and I have seen first-hand how they continually inspire their teams to fulfil their professional ambitions and deliver expert services to our clients. I am truly excited about the future of Fulkers with Dan, Martin and Leo leading our technical teams!”

Richard Fulker, Director
