Crystal Palace Park

Sector:
Contract Value:
£14.7m
Location:
London

Crystal Palace Park, a landmark Victorian landscape, required major restoration to safeguard its unique heritage assets and improve facilities for visitors. The London Borough of Bromley appointed Fulkers to provide Cost Management services as part of the park’s wider Regeneration Plan.

The works focus on restoring the Tidal Lakes and Italian Terraces – conserving 30 Grade I listed dinosaur sculptures and 14 geological illustrations, and repairing the stone steps, balustrades and wing walls that define the former Crystal Palace site. Fulkers led detailed market research, value engineering and close cost–design coordination to balance heritage sensitivity with budget efficiency, and continues to manage post-contract delivery through cost monitoring, funding-partner reporting and monthly contingency reviews.

The project is delivering a revitalised historic landscape, enhanced biodiversity and water management, and improved visitor facilities, including a refurbished Information Centre and a new playground, which is now complete and open to the public. A welcoming new entrance at Penge Gate will further enhance accessibility, securing the park’s cultural and ecological legacy for future generations.
