The Crystal Palace Park Regeneration Plan is a multi-phase capital works project to restore, renovate and improve Crystal Palace Park. Fulkers Bailey Russell (Fulkers) have been appointed to provide Quantity Surveying Services for the £17.5m first phase, which aims to refresh many historic features of the Victorian Park.

This first phase focuses on the Tidal Lakes and the Italian Terraces areas of the park. The key restoration work in the Tidal Lakes area includes the renovation of the 30 Grade I listed dinosaur sculptures and 14 geological illustrations. The restoration to the Italian Terraces, which surround where Crystal Palace once stood, includes the repair and replacement of the stone steps, balustrading and wing walls to both the upper and Lower Italian Terraces.

Additionally, the scheme includes water management works, the refurbishment of the Information Centre, creation of a new dinosaur-themed play area, construction of a new maintenance building and construction of a feature entrance at Penge Gate. The project requires extensive landscaping works to amend the site topography, improve accessibility, remove excess vegetation and increase biodiversity.

Fulkers are providing quantity surveying services from RIBA stages 2 to 7. The complexity of the scheme has required our team to undertake extensive market research with specialist contractors, lead value engineering exercises to ensure the works stay within budget and liaise with the design team to ensure the design and cost plans stay coordinated.
