Transforming UWE‘s Campus for a Sustainable Future
The University of the West of England (UWE) is transforming its A-N blocks into a modern, sustainable campus as part of its 2030 decarbonisation strategy. The project combines refurbishments, new constructions, and landscaping to unify the campus and bridge the gap between older and newer buildings. New buildings are designed to meet Passivhaus standards, while refurbishments target EnerPHit certification with upgrades such as triple-glazed windows, re-roofing, and solar panels.
Fulkers Bailey Russell (Fulkers) provided cost management services during the feasibility study, including cost planning, option appraisals, and cash flow forecasting. By establishing a realistic budget, advising on phasing, and tracking the project’s evolving scope, Fulkers ensured alignment with UWE’s sustainability objectives and helped lay the groundwork for the university’s vision of a greener future.
